NOW YOU CAN ORDER CONTACTS THROUGH OUR OFFICE

Over the past year many of our contact lens patients have had to go outside the practice to purchase their contacts because of their insurance.  If you are unable to purchase your contacts through the Vision Center we will be more than happy to order your contacts and bill your insurance for you.  As a courtesy to our patients, the cost of contact lenses will be the same as through the Vision Center.  In addition, we can mail your contacts to you (if the order amount is less than $100 there is a $5.95 shipping charge).  Our policy is to not compete with the Vision Center but rather to provide a service of convenience when they are unable to supply you with your lenses.  To order contacts please call the office at 502.964.4222.

INTRODUCING ACUVUE 2 ADVANCED, A NEW GENERATION IN CONTACTS
Vistakon, manufacturers of Acuvue and Acuvue 2 contact lenses, is pleased to announce the introduction of Acuvue Advance.  Acuvue Advance is a new generation soft contact lens that has proven to be a great solution to dry and tired eyes.  Our office is the first in this area to provide this lens to our patients who are candidates.  If you complain of dry eyes and contact lens wear, have been told you can't wear contacts because of dry eyes, or wish to extend your daily wear time then the Acuvue Advanced might be the lens of choice for you.  To learn more about this exciting new lens contact Dr. Freund's office at 502.964.4222

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Give the gift of sight this holiday season with a great stocking stuffer, a gift certificate for an eye examination or contact lens examination.  Purchase a gift certificate between now and December 24 and you will receive $5.00 off the cost of the certificate ($41 for an eye examination and $74 for a contact lens examination).  Stop by the office and pick up your certificate or you can send a check to our office for the appropriate amount.  Our office address is; James Freund, OD, 11901 Standiford Plaza Drive, Louisville, KY 40229.  Your certificate will be mailed out the day we receive your payment.

INSURANCE UPDATE

For your convenience our office currently participates in over 100 vision insurance plans.  So we can better handle your insurance requirements it is imperative that you inform our office that you have insurance at the time you schedule your appointment.  Our office staff in most cases will verify your insurance, get authorizations numbers, and confirm this information with you prior to your appointment.  Though it may seem inconvenient at times, by getting prior authorization we are able to provide better service to you during your visit and reduce your office visit time.  With new federal regulations taking effect in October 2003 (HIPPA - patient privacy act), much stricter guidelines are required in obtaining your information.  Please understand that in most cases now we will have to social security number, policy number, date of birth, and name of the subscriber and patient to verify your insurance.  You can provide your insurance information to us several ways.  Our online insurance form, faxing your information to our office 968-6096, or by calling our office directly and providing the requested information 964-4222 or 968-6641.  All information obtained is kept strictly confidential.

OUR OFFICE MANAGER CAN HELP YOU

Our office manager, Lindsay, is available to help you with most of office issues.  Whether you are having trouble with your insurance carrier, needing replacement contact lenses, or other issues, Lindsay can probably help you resolve the problem.  Over the past year Lindsay has worked diligently with all of our insurance carriers helping you receive the benefits you are entitled to.  In addition, Lindsay is an outstanding clinical technician who is always glad to perform the office pre-testing.  Lindsay is a great asset to the practice and the pride she takes in her job is evident by the compliments receives.
